Rohn Continues to Sponsor the Catholic Tradition of the Rector's Dinner in Rome

On April 27th, the seminarians, priests and staff of the Pontifical North American College welcomed more than 400 guests to the 25th annual Rector’s Dinner. Each year the Rector’s Dinner acknowledges the generosity of the college’s benefactors and supporters, and gives guests a chance to see the life of the college close-up.

Rohn & Associates Design, Inc. is proud to be a sponsor of this cherished event on the Janiculum Hill campus where future seminarians live, pray and study, preparing them to become shepherds and leaders in the Catholic Church.

A longtime supporter of this event, Rohn sent Stephen and Cathy Lusher from Australia to represent them, along with one of our valued clients, Dan McKenna, Head of School at St. Gabriel’s School in Austin, TX, (we featured our work on its chapel here); his parents, Denis and Marguerite McKenna; and Father Michael Drea, former chaplain of Harvard and now pastor at nearby St. Ann/St. Brendan Collaborative in Neponset, Boston.

It was a wonderful evening of fine Italian food, meaningful grace by former New Yorker Cardinal, Edwin O’Brien, and evocative words by current Rector, Very Reverend Peter Harman. Principal honors were presented to Bishop James Checchio along with Robert and Linda Weber. After serving as Rector himself for the past decade, Bishop Checchio joked that he could finally enjoy the evening himself. Robert and Linda Weber, who provide for the seminarians’ annual silent retreats and Italian language studies, thanked the seminarians for responding to the Lord’s call and encouraged the men in formation to persevere, despite the challenges that face them in a secular and hostile world.

Rohn representatives Stephen and Cathy were thrilled to learn that a seminarian waiting on their table was from their country while Father Drea and Dan were happy to catch up with old friends. Dan’s parents visited with the Cardinal from Chicago and Stephen was honored to pay his own respects to Australia's Cardinal Pell, the Vatican Prefect for The Economy.

Rolf Rohn is very proud to sponsor this annual event and commits his prayers and best wishes to the new rector and all the seminarians.
