We recently received a thoughtful letter from our friend Bishop Donald F. Lippert, OFM Cap., at the Saint Francis Friary in the Southern Highlands province of Papua New Guinea. Our team at Rohn and Associates Design, Inc. worked tirelessly to source all the materials needed to complete their chapel—and even donated the colorful and luminous Cimabue-style cross that now anchors the space: an Italian-style crucifix portraying the Passion with vivid realism and emotional depth.
Below is his message following the chapel’s dedication on October 15, 2014:
"Pace e bene!
Can you believe it after several years...Yesterday evening we finally dedicated the new chapel at Saint Francis Friary in Bomana. Archbishop John Ribat, Archbishop of Port Moresby was the principal celebrant...The stunning centerpiece of the whole campus is the San Damiano Crucifix stained glass window.
We are eternally grateful for your generosity and sacrifice in donating this beautiful piece of sacred art to the Capuchins of Papua New Guinea...and as such, you have a permanent place in our grateful thoughts and prayers.
Love and prayers,
Bro Don, ofm cap."
