3D Model Brings Sanctuary Retablo to Life for New St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church

Our artists are developing a remarkably detailed 3D model of the sanctuary retablo for the new St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Visalia, CA. The eventual 50’ x 40’ painting will vividly portray moments that reflect God’s presence throughout human history, set above a depiction of the Central Valley’s pastoral landscape. It will unfold a profound narrative of faith and devotion, encompassing Christ’s life, death, and resurrection, as well as representations of God the Father, the Holy Spirit, adoring angels, prophets, saints, and martyrs. Finally, Mary and Joseph will glorify Him with enduring prayer and song to show us love eternal.

In addition to this retablo, the expansive space will be enriched by a total of 140–180 pieces of sacred art. These include a striking dome mural of the heavens, inspired by Hubble telescope images and surrounded by the Four Evangelists. Additionally, narthex paintings will symbolize the consolidation of four parishes into St. Charles Borromeo, reflecting the faith journeys of parishioners. Rolf and his team will present renderings of the proposed murals in carefully selected color palettes to the church committee for review and approval before meticulously executing them on a larger scale.
