St. John Paul II Relic Displayed at Renovated St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Houston

Rolf just returned to St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Houston, where he viewed the relic of St. John Paul II. Polish-born Pope John Paul II, the first non-Italian pope in more than 400 years, served for 27 years—making him the second longest-serving pope. After his death, he was beatified on May 1, 2011 and canonized on April 27, 2014.

Father Troy Gately, with whom Rolf worked closely to design and implement their master renovation plan, invited the Servants of the Pierced Hearts of Jesus and Mary to visit. They have been entrusted with this precious relic for one year. It is through the generosity of Denise and Julio Zaldivar, whose daughter is a novice with the Order, that this was possible.

Thousands waited in line on Tuesday, November 7th, until late in the evening to share this important moment in parish history—to kiss the relic, ask for their intentions and prayers, and have their rosaries and images blessed.
