Two new murals are taking shape at Divine Mercy Parish in Blackstone, MA, offering a powerful visual journey through the life of St. Paul. These small color renderings preview the large-scale sacred art that will soon grace the church, deepening the faith of parishioners and beautifully complementing the recently installed altar and side shrine murals. When completed, these murals will be 12' x 12', creating a striking and immersive presence in the sacred space.
The Conversion of St. Paul: In the first scene, we witness Saul’s dramatic encounter with Christ on the road to Damascus. Once a fierce persecutor of Christians, he is struck down in a flash of divine light, hearing the words: "Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?" This moment of transformation marks the beginning of his journey as St. Paul, one of the greatest evangelists of the Church.
St. Paul in Prison: The second mural transports us to Paul’s final days in a Roman prison, where he is visited by Timothy. Together, they write some of the New Testament letters, even as Paul awaits execution under Emperor Nero. His unwavering faith, even in the face of death, serves as an enduring testament to the power of Christ’s message.
These murals are more than art—they are a catechesis in color, inviting parishioners to reflect on conversion, mission, and unwavering faith. Stay tuned as these sacred images come to life!
