Stained Glass Window Restoration Enhances Annunciation's Newly Restored Foley House

With the New Year comes fresh inspiration—and heartfelt gratitude for the blessings of the past.

We’re especially thankful for the chance to help preserve two exquisite stained glass windows from the old Houston Co-Cathedral, now given new life at Annunciation Catholic Church. These 5' 3" vibrant windows—depicting the Resurrection and the Priesthood—were generously purchased, restored, and donated by philanthropist Sidney Ohlhausen.

The windows now grace the entry of the historic Foley mansion on the church grounds, a home once owned by long-time parishioners and thoughtfully gifted to the parish by another Houston philanthropist. Currently serving as parish offices, classrooms, and a gathering space, the restored mansion offers a fitting setting for these luminous pieces of sacred art.

This isn’t the first time Mr. Ohlhausen has helped preserve important pieces of Catholic heritage. He also donated a restored oak door from the same Co-Cathedral to Regina Caeli Church—see the transformation here.

At Rohn & Associates Design, Inc., we’re committed to both creating timeless custom artworks and preserving our rich Catholic heritage by helping relocate sacred items from closed churches. We’re deeply grateful to all who support this mission.

If your church is considering a restoration or planning a new construction, we invite you to consider incorporating these important cultural treasures of the Catholic faith.
