Sacred Liturgical Design for New 37,000 Sq. Ft. St. John Neumann Catholic Church

For the past seven years, Rohn and Associates Design has been honored to collaborate with the Art & Environs Committee of St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Austin, Texas. Guided by faith and tradition, liturgical designer Rolf Rohn reenvisioned the original plans to create an environment that is both architecturally harmonious and liturgically profound. Every element has been thoughtfully shaped to reflect the depth of Catholic worship and to draw the community deeper into the mystery of the Eucharist.

At the heart of the project is a record-breaking 76-foot diameter dome mosaic, which crowns the sanctuary and assembly. This monumental masterpiece will proclaim the parish theme, Trinity through the Cross, identified and prayerfully developed with the committee. When complete, it will be the largest mosaic in Texas and among the ten largest in the United States—a breathtaking testament to the parish’s devotion and a powerful symbol of faith that will inspire generations to come.

Sacred art on this scale does more than decorate a church. It lifts minds and hearts to God, enriches prayer, and unites parishioners in a shared vision of divine beauty. The dome will serve as a beacon of Catholic identity, welcoming all who enter into prayer, reverence, and communion with the Holy Trinity. Each new step brings the parish closer to a worship space where heaven and earth meet.
