Rohn artists recently restored a St. Francis of Assisi statue donated by a priest to a Houston-area religious center dedicated to fostering the Gospel's spirit, healing, and growth. Crafted over a century ago by the renowned Daprato Studios of Northern Italy, this piece embodies our commitment to preserving our sacred Catholic heritage. Throughout the years, we have played a pivotal role in assisting many religious institutions in finding new homes for their unused treasures, safeguarding and honoring their enduring beauty and significance.
Our skilled team restored vitality to the five-foot statue of the patron saint of animals with meticulous care. The project began with the careful removal of old paint and finishes, followed by thorough repairs of damaged plaster and application of a new base coat. Using oil paints, we enhanced St. Francis’ solemn expression and robe, complemented by delicate gold leaf highlights that accentuated his regal presence. The entire process was completed in under a week, concluding with an application of a protective sealant.
Now, the renewed statue stands as a powerful symbol of faith and devotion, poised to inspire and uplift all who visit the religious center.
